Woven In was created for Hidden, a one-night-only projection art event that transformed Ballarat’s city centre through site-specific installations by eight local artists. I was one of the eight artists commissioned for this project, which invited audiences to rediscover overlooked spaces and encounter art in unexpected ways. My piece, Woven In, was a contemplative journey from shadow to visibility honouring the presence, strength, and quiet power of culturally diverse women in Australia. Through silhouettes, layered portraits, and poetic responses to personal prompts, the work invited viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with these women’s everyday — and often unseen — presence in public space. Projected onto heritage architecture, the installation was experienced by over 250 people in intimate guided groups throughout the evening.
